As the leading organization dedicated to CRM Centers of Excellence, CRM CoE Alliance pursues the following objectives:
- Advance Education & Professional Development – We provide resources, training, and certification programs to help CRM CoE leaders and practitioners develop operations and strategy expertise.
- Conduct & Disseminate Research – Through collaborative efforts, we research CRM CoE best practices, maturity processes, performance metrics, and standards to foster continuous improvement.
- Promote Research & Collaboration – We facilitate collaboration among CoE leaders, platform owners, consultants, and business executives to enhance CRM implementation and innovation strategies.

Why CRM CoE Alliance?
CRM Centers of Excellence (CoEs) are vital to the success of enterprise-wide customer relationship management strategies. Yet, historically, there has been no standardized framework for building and governing them—until now.
CRM CoE Alliance was founded in 2025 by Velu Palani, a thought leader in CRM governance and strategy. transform CRM CoEs from fragmented, isolated efforts into a collaborative,st practices ecosystem. After years of designing and leading successful CRM CoEs, Velu wrote A Master Framework for the CRM Center of Excellence, co-authored with Charlie Havens, to establish a universal governance and performance measurement approach.
However, CRM CoE Alliance goes beyond the book. It builds a community of practitioners dedicated to refining and advancing CRM CoE standards, adapting them to real-world challenges, and evolving the discipline through shared learning and collaboration.

Shanthi P. Palani
Managing Director
As the Managing Director of CRM CoE Alliance, I lead strategy, planning, and execution to advance our mission of optimizing CRM Center of Excellence (CoE) initiatives. I am privileged to collaborate with an exceptional team, driving programs that enhance CRM effectiveness, including our flagship mentorship initiative. This program, inspired by the book co-authored by Velu Palani and Charlie Havens, equips leaders with best practices, tools, and insights to maximize CRM investments and foster collaboration between IT and business teams.
With over two decades of experience in IT, specializing in Salesforce solutions and data warehousing, my career began in high-governance enterprise environments, emphasizing compliance, security, and risk management. This expertise informs my leadership in bridging traditional IT frameworks to modern CRM strategies, ensuring efficiency and innovation.
I hold an engineering degree, a master's in computer Science, and several Salesforce certifications. To keep CRM CoE Alliance at the forefront of technological advancements and business transformation, I am currently pursuing credentials in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I enjoy traveling, gardening, and my love for dogs. Exploring new cultures broadens my perspective, gardening provides a sense of fulfillment, and I firmly believe that a dog brings immeasurable joy to life.

Director
I help organizations build and refine CRM Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to drive business outcomes. With expertise in CRM strategy, governance, and process optimization, I ensure that CRM platforms serve as strategic assets, enhancing efficiency and engagement.
With Velu Palani, I co-authored A Master Framework for the CRM Center of Excellence, a structured approach to scaling CoEs. The CRM CoE Alliance expands on this work, fostering a community to advance best practices.
